Evaluation Question 5
How did you attract/address
your audience?
Once we had made our film our audience were attracted to our choice if genre that we went for which in the end was a crime comedy style of film. Which was easily identifiable to our audience which we were able to gather the information from our post-production questionnaire. Which shows us as to what type of genre that people thought our film was where 64% of the people we asked thought it was a crime comedy which is the genre of our film. This result of 64% showed us that we needed to make our genre more obvious which seems to have worked as when we did our post production questionnaire where 92% of the people we asked said it was a crime comedy. this shows how from the pre to post production questionnaire we have attracted our audience as they noticed the genre more which means that they would be able to understand what it was about and if they liked our film or not. We were able to see if we would have attracted our target audience as in the post-production questionnaire we were able to see that when we asked the question Would you watch our film? 96% said yes which shows that we are aiming our film at the right audience as they found it to be appealing and they would go to watch the full film.
However we did not just attract our audience through the genre it was the content that we had that also appealed to our audience. For example, our film is a crime comedy aimed at a target audience of 15-30 years of age. So as you would expect we have used some taboo lexis within the film as it appealed more to the members of our age group as it makes it more comedic when something goes wrong in the film. We can prove that content like this appealed to our audience as in the pre-production questionnaire we asked the question What is you opinion on our film idea? where 76% had a positive opinion towards the idea. This was able to show us that people liked our initial idea of our script and screen play but we did have some negative effects about the amount of taboo language that we used within our film which we can see as an improvement that we could need to make to our film to widen our audience but overall the feedback was positive about the content that we have included in our film.
